Wise and Daring, Following the Heart’s Cry
I am your shelter, I will enfold you,
Warm with a mystery I may reveal to you.
Made it to Scotland! Wow, as pretty as Ireland was in the country, Edinburgh is so pretty in the city. There are castles in every direction!! Jen’s convinced a dragon is going to come out and singe us!
On our last day in Ireland (we had almost the whole day because the flight was so late) we went to St Stephen’s Green, which was lovely, and then to the National Museum of Ireland to see the preserved bodies that were excavated from the tombs we visited the day before. It was like the same idea as the preserved bog people the Glenbow was featuring a while back. Anyways, then we went to the Chester Beatty Library to view some ancient manuscripts from quite a few religions. Very intricate and interesting! At that point we headed to the airport.
In Scotland, our hostel is great. We girls are in a private room (Mark’s in the dorms, ahaha!) and there’s a shower and bathroom inside the room, so amazing. And the beds, I can sit up in the bed without bashing my head, which is more than can be said for the awful Ireland hostel. Loving it here!
Today we went to the Edinburgh dungeon, which is kind of aimed at ten year olds but Jen really wanted to, it was actually rather fun! Then we went on the Vaults tour for some real excitement. Apparently voted the scariest location by that show ‘Mosted Haunted’ the Vaults have tons of creepy stories and we went into them while the tour guide freaked us out. It was great! In one of them, the most haunted vault, we had to enter on a certain side based on gender because one side of the vault is safer and the poltergeist is more antagonistic to women apparently (aah!). It was cool, I hope I can sleep tonight, haha!
