Through the Window
Yikes, it’s been a while. I didn’t feel the need to give an update on my life, really, between getting the job and starting it. I really didn’t do many interesting things while on my downtime; just the things I never get the time to do. I did go watch the zombie-walk downtown with Alex and Kim. It was pretty funny! I bought a journal at Reids that day, and now I’m putting just a bunch of meaningful things into it. Like, when I’m out and I wish I could read a certain poem, now I’ll have it with me in that notebook! Stuff like that.
I also cleaned my room. Doesn’t seem like a big thing, but it was one of those “full-day” clean-ups where I dust and vacuum corners and under my bed and everything. I took pictures.
Today my mom insisted we all find out our Body Mass Index numbers from a health magazine she’s subscribed to. My brother and I are actually the same, 19. I realized that I actually weigh more than ten pounds less than I did around this time last year, which is miraculous considering what I ate from June to September of this year for lunch. Some chocolate bars, quite a few cinnamon buns, and the equivalent of two cans of pop every day. I should be a whale. I think my mom is the only one keeping me from becoming one; her and her healthy dinners.
Now, I think I’m going to focus on drinking a lot more water (so my skin will look better) and making my nails grow out. They’re pretty ugly right now. I bet I bite my nails more when I’m worried. Change always does make me freak out, but I really want to make this job work. I hope have a firm hang of things by Christmas, or even before.
