A Place in the Sun
Yup. One of those times when I could say so much, that I can’t sort it out so I can’t get anything out! Actually, that’s just what I’ve got to do: some active sorting! But here’s my beautiful analogy that I came up with today. (It’s probably been done before, but I really did just come up with it.) Right now I’m trying to figure out where I fit into my church, my school, my world. I figure the ‘big picture’ is kind of like a puzzle, and each person is a piece that fits in perfectly somewhere. When you’re making a puzzle, you don’t just grab random pieces and try to mash them together, even though you feel like it sometimes. You just don’t do that. And sometimes it looks like two pieces fit together when they actually don’t. But anyway, the smarter way to find the piece that fits is to study it. Study the individual pieces and study the places where one is missing. To have an idea, however vague, about how the piece should look. So, here’s my point: In order to find out where I belong, I’ve got to really look at the open places, and then I’ve got to learn more about myself. Then finding my place will be a bit easier.
I’ve used this quote before, but I love it and it kind of seemed to fit again today. Ice cream with Janet was awesome, by the way.
