Always The Youngest
I wish I were older. I’m always the youngest one there when we go out after church, even if I go with the other high school people. And then when we’re out with the C&Cs, there can be nine, ten years difference between them and me. And frankly, that’s not why I want to be older. It’s that they probably don’t really want to hang out with a tenth grader. Because when it all comes down to it, ten years, especially those ten years, make a big difference. Even six years make a big difference. Take Dillon—there’s something like five years and seven months between us and even though that sounds like nothing, it really glares when you think that he’s still in elementary and I’m in high school. So, actually, now that I’ve written it down, I wish I was older so that I could be with this year’s grads and C&C; and they’d want me there.
