Multicultural Interests

Well, I feel like I have quite a bit to write about so this might be a longer entry. But lots of great stuff has been going on so I am happy to report it!

First, this weekend was awesome and full of calming one-ness (Yoga) and mindless violence goodness (Kim, Jen, Alex and Tomek coming over to watch the first Resident Evil)! I was going to go out somewhere after church with Alison and Selby but Selby didn’t call me and I didn’t have her number (and she didn’t have mine! Wow, we are good at planning ahead!) Anyways, so after church I went to Brewsters with Mike and Justin and Alexis. We had a grand old time!

On Sunday I did absolutely nothing, besides clean my room a bit and then I went to the second Resident Evil with Kim and Jen and Mark and Alex. Wow, it was loud and jumpy! But the point is that it was an 18A movie and I saw it legally. Woo. Jen and I had great fun singing to the beautiful Metric songs that Mark is not artsy enough to appreciate.

Tonight your ghost will ask my ghost… where is the love? Tonight your ghost will ask my ghost… who put these bodies between us?

Today, well today was good overall. It started out with a math test I think I did okay on, and then we went to print service class where we watched a stupid x 10 movie about listening skills! (There’s like a butt-load of gangs at SAIT that want me to join for my listening skillz… sweet). On our two hour break, Alessandra and Ranjit and I went to TD Square and had Chinese food and looked at the super expensive stores. Awesome! Then we went to typesetting where we all made cool ads on this new program. Typesetting… I’m sure it will get better but now it’s like… guh.

Then last I had pre-press class. Apart from press and bindery class, pre-press is the one that freaks me out the most. Wow, I am so sucky at being so uber precise in measuring things and stuff… but today we proofed a two-colour job and my negatives actually lined up and my teacher was like, “wow, I’m impressed!” You have no idea how relieved I was to hear that.

This evening I had my first African dance class and it was fun! (Or as it is affectionately said, I liked it; it was pretty.) So, yes! I realized that I am maybe becoming a culturally well-rounded person. Think of it! Ashtanga Yoga from India, African dance classes from Africa (seriously), Frou Frou from England and I’m a flaming dork so… Azumanga Daioh from Japan… yup.

Oh, and Wizard’s First Rule from America. Oh my gosh, it is like the so coolest book ever. I’m hooked for real.
