Lost Forever

Second day of the zoo: comparable to the first, but more fun because I got to work with Kim! If only human bodies did not tire. To think of it, I’d love this job if I didn’t have sore feet all the time, and I really dislike bending over to clean things. But, so far, the job itself hasn’t been harrowing, and I do love my co-workers (that is, also the ones who I have not known since elementary school). They are great! Really, if they were jerks, I’d seriously be considering quitting already… well, no… but I’d wish that I was seriously considering it…

This morning we were told that there were a huge group of jr. high kids at the zoo today, which caused a collective shudder, but later on Kim noticed that Mrs. Charnock was in the line-up in the cafĂ©. So one of the jr. high groups must have been Wilma Hansen. Pretty funny! To be brutally honest, though, the only thing I remember about the grade seven zoo trip when I went was being in the primate building with Mr. Dalke and a couple of other students while he depressed us with, “just look at that guy. He must be so sad in that cage. Look at his expression; he knows he’s caught for good.” Isn’t it strange how certain things make an impression, and seemingly more important things are lost forever?
