Soulmate
Well, it’s been a week since I’ve written, and I hate it when I leave it so long because my short-term memory rather sucks and I can never remember exactly what I did in the last week… which is why I have an agenda-book to write things in…
On Saturday I went to Peter’s Drive-In with Jen and Kim and Alex and Mark because we’d heard a rumour that it was closing. I don’t think I fully believe said rumour, but I wasn’t about to pass up the chance to go! I went to Robyn’s bridal shower after that. Awe, she is so cute with Matt. They are a great couple, no doubt! My parents didn’t go to church that night because they were meeting with my aunt and uncle about my other aunt’s fiftieth birthday party. I didn’t feel like phoning anyone for a ride to church so instead Jen came over and we worked on Appanyan some more, and watched Underworld, too. Man, I bet I could recite that whole movie I’ve seen it so many times. But I love it, so whatever.
The next day I went to a Hitmen game with Kim and Alex and Kristine. It was super fun! Although, it was kind of better in grade eight when we could be all like, ‘Wow, number seven is so hot!’ I mean, we can still do that but the thought that most of the team is my brother’s age, or in any case, younger than us, lessens the fun. It was a good game even though it was a tie.
This week was more or less regular at school. On Tuesday we went on a tour of Apache Superior Printing and they gave us these awesome gift bag things when we left. There was stationary inside! I love it!
Jen came over and watched Lost with me again yesterday, and now Appanyan is growing in vocabulary. We even made some sentences that made sense, and a cultural greeting! (Blue eyes alight upon you, haha!) I was glad to be done school yesterday… a test in print service and I had to suffer through business class… but then I had to go back to pre-press class and finish off my four-colour proof because on Monday the laminator got totally buggered up when a piece of ruby got put in by mistake. (Brenda was not amused!) Eventually I got done, though.
Today… well, … I think I may have met my soul-mate on the train, haha! So I was reading Stone of Tears (sequel to Wizard’s First Rule) and when I sat down across from him he actually stopped the conversation he was in to say, “Hey, that’s an awesome book!” I was like, yeah, it’s great! Then he recommended that I read a series by Robert Jordan so I don’t know, I probably will. Anyways, he was talking to two other girls as if he’d known them for a long time, and I kept looking up because he talked in the exact same manner as Mr. Petrie did… like just loud enough that you can hear him but you have to pay attention. Well, then he got off the train and was like, “This is my stop, but nice meeting you!” and then to me he said, “Robert Jordan!” and left. Then one of the other girls said, “is that your boyfriend?” and she said no but she’d known him from French class. French class! Sigh.
I wish I were not so shy.
