Look Over Your Shoulder
It’s been a good last few days! On Friday I went shopping with Kim to get Sarah’s birthday present (even though it’s way late! Oh man!) and to my utmost joy, we learned that the DDR machine at Paramount has finally been fixed! Yay! After we were done shopping and playing two games of DDR and getting Orange Julius and candy (it was awesome) we went to Jen’s house to give her a little ostrich toy we got her, but she was not home. So we went back to my house and watched Fahrenheit 9/11. Wow, they are good at making Bush look dumb. Obviously it’s one-sided, but man.
On Saturday I didn’t do much (…other than read book three!! Jen gave it to me even though I had not read the other books!). After church, I went to Pizza Hut with Connor and Dillon and everyone else, and then we decided that we were bored and wanted to see some good mindless violence. So, naturally, we went to Alien vs. Predator. Well, Justin thought it wasn’t even worth the five bucks because it didn’t have an original storyline, but I say, ‘whateva, dude.’ Yes. But I will also probably see it again with Jen and Kim.
Sunday, also, not much happened during the day. My brother had his first full day of work at Dairy Queen (ha!) but that meant that we could not have Thanksgiving with everyone in Lethbridge. So… it was just the four of us. Kind of lame, but still good. Kim and Jen came over afterwards and we watched Waterworld and Ash Wednesday. Jen got an awesome haircut and we were trying to find out if it was still long enough to French braid (it probably is, but I couldn’t get it to work). Anyways, then I just did lots of crazy stuff with it like the Niobe hairdo, a mohawk, tons of ponytails, tiny braids, etc. It was so fun! The videos we took are hilarious!
Monday, again, nothing until I went to dance class. Awe, and next week Cailee and Corene and hopefully Angie will come over and we will play DDR! Muaha!
And then, today. In English we are learning how to punctuate paragraphs… so we were told to write down a question and then switch questions with a partner, and then answer the question in paragraph form. Well, my question was, ‘why is the sky blue?’ so I was excited! I went into all the cool scientific crap about how light reflects and travels through the eye down the optic nerve to the brain (I put it into great detail, though). And then everyone was taking a long time so I started drawing diagrams of the eye and the brain and the neuron and stuff. It was good fun, but now everyone knows I’m a flaming dork!! Oh well!
On the way home, I was on the bus and my stop was next so I pressed the button. When I got off, this other guy did too, and he was walking in front of me. I was under the impression he thought I was following him (which I was, technically, but he lives on my block, so…) because he kept on looking over his shoulder at me.
I have a habit, when people repeat behaviors, of counting how many times they do it. This guy looked over his shoulder at me nine times. Now really, what could possibly have had him so worried? Oh no! That feeble-looking college girl seems to be following me home, even though she lives on my block and pressed the next stop button at my bus stop! What should I dooo? Well, on the ninth time he looked back at me, he walked right into a pine tree that was overhanging the sidewalk. He freaked right out, too. And I am sorry, but I found that damn hilarious and didn’t even bother trying to stifle my snicker.
