Grade Twelve
So August is over and September has come. This is the last day of summer, so it’s time for my back to school goals and expectations entry.
First and foremost: I resolve to embrace and experience this year; live every moment. I will not step down. I refuse to let either my negative self-image or my pre-concieved ideas of what people think of me stop me from experiencing everything and loving everybody. I will hold nothing back.
Grade twelve is the last year of obligatory school and it’s also the year that decides which post-secondary schools I can go to. That’s why I’ve decided to truly try hard this year to do well on tests and homework. I always have this vision of myself as the perfect little student but it only lasts for about two weeks into September—and then I’m the partial slacker again. But not this year…
Grade twelve is when I have to invest everything into my friendships at school because after this year, I might not see some of my friends very often. Every time I am parted with a friend, even if we say we’ll keep in touch, we almost never do. Therefore I have to make every effort after graduation to stay close.
I can tell this whole year is going to be bittersweet.
