A Prayer

Lord, I stand here before you on the night before my next great adventure. I’m praying now over every aspect of this year, but several in general.

I pray for the staff at my school; for strong and positive leadership. That the transition between principals will run smoothly. That you’ll have your hand on my schedule. If I had my way I’d have all of my friends in all my classes, but I know that You know what’s best for me this year, and that anything You have planned for me is far better than anything I could have come up with myself. So place me where I’m needed this year, and help me to take the stand when I have to. Let me understand my teachers; let them understand me.

I pray that this year my friendships would strengthen. Protect relationships this year, God. Friction is inevitable but please, please don’t let anything fall apart completely. Show Your power, give my friends the strength to carry them through this year. Some of them have intense schedules and need Your grace more than ever. Some of them have no friends in their classes yet; help them to be happy throughout their day even if nothing specifically good is happening. With this I leave you, Father.
