Run Through The Cold of the Night
I sure did just survive two whole days of camping. I am h-core.
So Mark and Kim and Alex went early on Friday to get our spot in the campsite, and then Jen and I drove down after work. But even though we were totally on time, she decided we had to stop at the dollar store to buy ceramic gnomes. Had to. So we did. We got ceramic things for everyone: a pig for me, a snail for Kim, a dog for Alex, a… kingfisher? For Mark, and a cow for Jen, of course. My pig got burned in the fire as did most of the others, then Alex’s dog was smashed… it was good times. We listened to the Icewind Dale soundtrack, and the clouds were really dark and looming. It was wicked.
After we first got there, I had a burger and then when it got dark, we went stargazing! It was surreal, there were shooting stars and everything! So, so nice. Then we started freaking Jen out saying there were aliens… so fun!
We went on a walk the next day, played some frisbee, had smokies. The meals actually worked out a lot better this year, because we kind of knew what we were doing more than last time. Really the whole trip passed without great incident, so that’s probably a good thing!
