Recognize It All As Light & Rainbows

Smashed to smithereens,
   And be happy.

I saw God today.

I got up at the crack of dawn and went to work early so I’d feel less guilty about leaving at one to go to the memorial service of Arthur Dethmers. I thought maybe I could put on a brave face and not cry; what a joke. By the end of Better is One Day, I was weeping, tears unchecked.

This is when it happened.

Henry and Kathy stood at the front and spoke with perfect composure. They said they could feel God’s loving hand. They said they felt peace that transcended understanding. It’s all real. People can’t fabricate that kind of serenity. Their only son hasn’t been gone a week and I’ve never seen such peace.

Thank God for my church family.

I don’t even realize how lucky I am half the time.

Thanks for the post Colette. That was a striking moment in the midst of great tragedy. It is great to see that the prayers of many for them to be comforted and have peace were answered.
