Faint White Figures
paint my sleep—
Please don’t tell my secrets,
keep them hidden.
I’ve had some crazy insomnia this past week, not really fretful, just wound-up. I like to multi-task and all, but having lots of things going on in October and November has my brain all frenzied.
A probably-pathetic amount of my October was spent planning for my sweet Harry Potter party that’s happening next weekend and I am out of my mind with excitement. I would almost go as far as to say that Halloween was an afterthought this year, but that’s not true because Katie and I also worked hard on our Swan Lake costumes and they looked wicked. We went to the Art Central Monster Ball on Friday and were extremely impressed with the other costumes there. On Saturday we went to Jon and Liz’s party which was fantastic! They went all-out with decorations and the costumes there were amazing too. Sunday I went with Jen and Andrew to Kim and Eric’s new place to have our traditional Halloween do: costume theme and horrible movie. This year, lumberjacks and Riki-Oh. All in all, sweet weekend.
Well, last Tuesday I accomplished one of my most long-held goals, I got a car, and insurance for that car, and plates for that car. Finally! Driving is scary but it is freeing. And it will make me into less of a ride beggar.
The other thing I more or less accomplished for the first time in my life was to instigate the formation of a bible study group and I feel real good about that. It was pretty cool, actually. I stepped into the shower one day with no thoughts of bible study in my mind and then it just sort of hit me that I needed to start or be part of one and I had an e-mail composed and sent to Bob within, like, twenty minutes. So now they’re happening and we’re starting where I’m at, learning about the early church.
Can’t believe it’s November.
