We Are Still Screaming, Even Now

We push our way through distorted winds,
But even then, we continue to wander.

Quite a bit has happened this month so I’d say it’s time for a little update.

Firstly, (I’m still kind of trying not to get my hopes up too much but) things are really looking up regarding André doing his practicum here, starting in the middle September! I’ll feel better about things when all the paperwork is in order, but still, it’s looking good! I’ll probably have more details about that in a month or so.

Mike and I will soon be off to our second of six Drivers Ed in-class sessions and I guess that’s going well enough. I didn’t realize before Wednesday how much I’d forgotten about what high school was like. It actually boggled me that some of those idiot kids weren’t paying attention. I mean, yeah it’s not the most interesting material, that’s for darn sure. But come on, make an effort! Our instructor had to move people around to stop them from talking to each other while she was teaching. Then I remembered, oh right, this is what every day was like in high school. We are back, we are back. Serves me right for waiting so long to learn to drive.

On the personal hobbies front… not much change.

Exodus Children is on hold for a bit while I work on a picture for a friend, but Drivers Ed is going to be chewing up a lot of art time. That’s okay. I’ve noticed my creativity comes in surges and these days I feel more like writing. I feel like writing but I still need to discover some great ideas for my book. Solid ideas I mean, not the disjointed wisps of plots I have now. But honestly, I don’t care how long it takes to write as long as I like it when it’s done. That would be great!

Guitar, well guitar’s slowly improving. I have some goals… Christmas carols! Oh, and Mike got his hammered dulcimer a few weeks ago. He’s really rocking it! So yes, we’re going to learn Christmas carols on our instruments and practice until we rule and then Christmas will be lovely. I’m also in love with the adorable British girl who does the dulcimer lessons on YouTube.

In other news, I watched and loved Heroes a few months ago and just recently I bought the soundtrack. It’s awesome! But do you know what’s even awesomer? Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. Tell your friends.

That’s all I got.
