I Wanted You To Know
That I love the way you laugh. I want to hold you high and steal your pain away.
So as of yesterday, I’ve been back in Canada for one week. It really feels like longer, Europe seems like ages ago now. Probably because it’s so far away, I guess, it just is like it’s a different world. We’d gotten into our little routine over there; see things, catch buses, trains and planes, and everyday life at home felt so far away to me. Coming back home and going back to work has been good though. Can’t say I cried a tear of nostalgia when I sat down in my office, but it was good. Actually it looked really bare and lonely without me! I’d taken all my stuff home before I left so that anyone using the office while was gone wouldn’t laugh at the girly phone list and inspirational quotes and my stuffed husky from Husky and stuff… but it’s all back now!
After seeing so much and doing so much, I kind of thought it’d take longer to get back into my groove here, but it really hasn’t. In a way it feels like I didn’t go anywhere… but then I look at all our great pictures and laugh, because most of them are really funny!
Looking back and deciding what the best parts of the trip were, it’s really hard to decide, really. We had some lows but mainly it was just awesome. I really, really liked Poland because of staying with Alex’s aunt and then being shown around by her cousins. Those were really fun days for sure! London was busy and… well, London, so… amazing. Dublin was surely a highlight, especially that trip into the countryside. In Scotland, the ghost tours were freaky and so worth it. Paris… meeting AndrĂ©… like I said before, it was like a dream. Venice and Rome were too hot for me, but Venice is probably the most picturesque place I’ve ever been and Rome, so historical! Heidelberg was a slower pace and we had good weather on the second day. Fantastic day. And the hostel was probably the best there. Actually I think Heidelberg was my favourite place, all things considered. Frankfurt, apart from some cute Tudor houses, I think is more of a living city than a ‘stuff to see’ city… or at least that’s what we found, only being there for a day. So yeah! That’s my overview. I don’t really have any regrets about the trip (except if I could go back in time I’d suggest we book hotels near to the correct airports but that was the only mistake we made really).
So, what have I done this past week? In short… catch-up, and I’m almost done. Two more episodes of 24 to watch, and a few of Grey’s, and TV will be caught up (Lost finale was messed up! And… House finale sucked, sorry, but it did…). Went for coffee with Sammy, we giggled a lot! And played Frisbee. It was great last Thursday, the weather was perfect! I’ve also been going through our hundreds of photos deciding which ones to get printed and put in an album. Plus, I made a scrapbook of all the ticket stubs and brochures I kept from Europe. I went to a doctor and dentist appointment and…
Ok, ok, I can’t avoid it any longer… I’ve played more than 24 hours of World of Warcraft since coming home. 20 Draenei mage, and I love her so much! After being so hulking as Kasara (as cows tend to be), little Nepenthe looks so cute and tiny even though she’s like a foot and a half taller than Jen’s warlock! (Pumpkin, demonology spec.) This roll has been really, really fun so far. Connor and Justin are warriors, Dillon’s a pally (durrr!) I’m a mage, Mike’s a priest, Jen’s a warlock and Mark’s a druid. In short… we’re a freaking awesome team. (Nazjatar server!)
It’s good to be back!
