Hi, My Life Is Complete!

So, yesterday when I woke up, my glands were swollen and I was pretty sure I was coming down with a cold (and still think so). But that wasn’t my first thought on that grey Friday morning. My first thought at 6:20 AM was actually, oh man, why did I set my alarm yesterday? This is Saturday! I was happy for a few minutes before I realized that my memory of Friday was a little foggier than it should have been… oh wait, it hasn’t happened yet. Daaang. It was brutal.

I sadly got ready and went to work, where I learned that our servers had been down from about 8PM last night, and still weren’t working. And that week, I’d been added to the support email team! E-mail wasn’t working, but I anticipated an all-out flood of emails asking why the server was broken and when it’d be back. So that didn’t help my poor Friday. But at least there was music… At least Hawksley and Imogen could cheer me up, right?

Failure! Because even though I’d plugged my Dell DJ into its charger the night before, I didn’t realize that the charger itself wasn’t plugged in. I was so sad. This day was going to last forever! Without the server, I couldn’t even work. No work, no internet, no music! (No boss, either, because he was in Las Vegas this week).

But then they fixed the server, so that was a bit better. Lamenting the dead silence, I Googled indie radio and stumbled across one of the best things on the internet I’ve ever stumbled across!

Pandora.com, personalized internet radio. My life is complete! You type in a band you like, and it’ll play songs from that band, and songs from similar bands. Then you can add suggestions to it, and rate the songs. It’s awesome. Because, you know, I do sometimes get tired of listening to the same old things. Friday turned out to be a pretty great day afterall!
