Intensity Comes At The Cost of Wisdom
Work today was pretty sweet! When I left this morning, I knew it would be a busy day. The sky was clear, the sun was shining; all in all, it was a perfect day to go to the zoo…
So, I was going merrily along in my hot dog kingdom when I decided the dishes in the back room were piling up too much so I went back there for five minutes to do a load. When I came back out, it appeared that there was a line-up as far as the eye could see all backed up at my pizza window. I seriously did stand there, staring in unchecked awe and fear, for about three and a half seconds. It was then that I realized that the line-up was, in fact, not for my pizzas, but for the till beyond my pizzas! So, yes, we were serving up food more quickly than the cashiers could ring it all through, which I doubt happens very often. And to be honest, I’d attribute it more to the fact that there was a sudden rush of people who took mostly pre-packaged food. But either way, back of house crashing front of house results in free Screamers for me!! A Screamer, as I learned today, is a Pepsi cup filled to the top with heaven — I mean, soft-serve ice cream and slurpee. If it doesn’t sound good to you, you’re wrong and should go to the zoo promptly to try one.
